I have finally gotten around to posting a new update. Things have been busy in kindergarten! Spelling bee, snow days, Valentine's Day, upcoming science fair, conferences and grade reports, art projects, e-mails and communication with parents... the list never ends. A highlight of the month was celebrating the 100th day of school.
I gave each child a certificate and sticker, which everyone was excited about (I love how five and six year olds go crazy over stickers). During math we made a paper chain of 100 (adding 50 and 50 chain links to make 100), skip counted to 100 in every way possible, shared our bags of 100 items, and solved the problem "If we have 100 candy dots and 12 kids to share them with, how many dots will each child receive (the number must be even)." Ah division...
I love the kids but I could definitely use a break! We don't have breaks at work and while the days pass quickly, I find myself often exhausted and always coming down with another cold. Josh and I booked tickets to Costa Rica for Spring Break - something to dream about while I stand outside in the cold during recesses.
